The WorldFish Center is a world-class scientific research organization. Our mission is to reduce poverty and hunger by improving fisheries and aquaculture. We have thirteen offices across Africa, Asia and the Pacific and are engaged in collaborative research with our partners in more than 50 countries. The Center is a nonprofit organization and a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural research (CGIAR).

Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and deliver cutting-edge technology & IT services;
  • Managing IT processes and activities for the Center;
  • Responsible for the management of a wide range of IT infrastructure activities, such as network, databases, hardware and software applications in all our offices globally; and
  • Leading the selection and implementation of our new software platforms.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Degree in Information Technology, Information Management or Computer Science or other relevant qualification;
  • 10 years experience in relevant field;
  • 5 years experience in management with global exposure:
  • Experience in managing virtual teams;
  • Experience from international private sector and preferably with international organizations i.e. NGO, CSO, etc.;
  • Strong management and leadership skills, analytical and technical skills, and project management and consulting skills;
  • Strong knowledge and experience of process transition;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in multi-cultural settings;
  • Good customer relationship management skills;
  • Willing and able to travel for work; and
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
